Favourite Thing: Looking down a microscope. I have used many types of microscope each of which allow me to look at bacterial cells in high definition! To think I can see something that small is mind-blowing!

Work History:

Subway, Phone Shops, Silver Service Catering, and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals! A right mix of places!

Me and my work

I look at hospital superbugs and try to find out how we can kill them using a special type of honey!

My Typical Day

Go to work… drink coffee… SCIENCE… more coffee… MORE SCIENCE… Go home…

What I'd do with the money

I’d buy science equipment and tour round schools doing experiments that they might not have the funds for!

Paintballing! Shooting your best friends with balls of paint is such fun!

I had no idea!

Once or twice…

What was your favourite subject at school?

It would have to be either Biology or Geography!

What's the best thing you've done as a scientist?

Events like this… Giving something back and getting others excited is easily the best thing!

What or who inspired you to become a scientist?

Alexander Flemming, the discoverer of penicillin!

If you weren't a scientist, what would you be?

Astronaut!

If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!

To have more wishes? To have more science funding! and To get more people involved in science!

Hereare pictures of my lab space and desk in the office! Not as clean as I like but sometimes it does get a little messy! And yes… that is the Top Gear Special being played on iPlayer! (I need some background noise when I work!).

I also get to goof around in the lab so here was a little something I did for the olympics! The logo and year made out of bacteria! (when you turn the light off they glow different colours!

I have also been involved in other out reach programs such as Lab in a Lorry! This lorry (which has a lab in the back) tours the UK and Scotland… and volunteers like me get to teach science to High School Pupils!

So what do I like doing in my space time? Drinking coffee and watching rugby!
