Favourite thing to do in my job Looking down a microscope. I have used many types of microscope each of which allow me to look at bacterial cells in high definition! To think I can see something that small is mind-blowing!
I look at hospital superbugs and try to find out how we can kill them using a special type of honey!

Hereare pictures of my lab space and desk in the office! Not as clean as I like but sometimes it does get a little messy! And yes… that is the Top Gear Special being played on iPlayer! (I need some background noise when I work!).
I also get to goof around in the lab so here was a little something I did for the olympics! The logo and year made out of bacteria! (when you turn the light off they glow different colours!
I have also been involved in other out reach programs such as Lab in a Lorry! This lorry (which has a lab in the back) tours the UK and Scotland… and volunteers like me get to teach science to High School Pupils!
So what do I like doing in my space time? Drinking coffee and watching rugby!
One final thing before I go! My research looks at manuka honey because we are running out of antibiotics! Can you help us by signing the Antibiotic Action petition?
And here is a picture of a cat I took!
