      Hi Voltafephanfare!

It sounds like someone you know might heave this which isn’t very nice at all! I’m sorry if you do know someone with it and hopefully I’ll be able to help!

Unfortunately we are not aware of the exact cause for this illness and so I can’t comment on wether we will ever find a cure for it! In our life time it is probably unlikely that we will 🙁 However, we have many different ways in which we can combat its effects!

Painkillers and antidepressants are helpful in reducing pain and increasing the spirits of those affected. Counselling and talking to health care professionals (as well as other sufferers) has been shown to reduce stress and pain. However one of the best methods to reduce pain and suffering is through regular exercise (which is difficult when you feel tired but well worth it if you can muster the strength to do it). A simple brisk walk with fresh air would be enough, so long as the heart rate is elevated and breathing increases!

I really hope that helps you! The website below gives all the self help you might need for coping with the illness and reducing the pain! http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Fibromyalgia/Pages/SelfHelp.aspx If you want anymore information comment or ask another question 🙂 Take care and good luck 🙂
