Thanks from your winner, Aled

First and foremost… Thank you so much to all of the students who took part in I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here March 2014. You made this an unforgettable experience by asking some of the most challenging questions I’ve encountered. Some of my favourite questions include How do chameleons know when to change colour? and Could we replace blood with something else?, which pushed my scientific knowledge to the limits and beyond! Secondly I would like to thank my fellow Cerium Zone scientists, all of which would have been worthy winners and who are each a credit to their respective fields (they even taught me a thing or two!). This has been one of the most rewarding two weeks in my public engagement career! I can’t believe that you guys ’n’ gals voted for me! I’m very humbled! I would like to thank all of the students again … Continue reading

The first scientist you’ve evicted is…

It’s been a fantastic event so far with the scientists answering hundreds of questions between them. But there can be only one zone winner. Today 5 become 4 as the first scientist leaves the competition. The first scientist to be evicted is… Fiona Heesen Thank you for all you’ve done. We hope you’ve enjoyed taking part. And remember, even though you’ve been evicted, you can still take part in live chats. There will be evictions every day for the rest of the week, with the winner announced on Friday. So students, make sure you VOTE! And remember, as well as giving prizes to the winning scientists, we also give prizes to students. One student in each zone will win a £20 WH Smith voucher for asking great questions (questions that aren’t about One Direction).
