  What an interesting question – I’m afraid I can only speak from my experience in Canada as that’s where I grew up 🙂 I think it is taught well, but really schools can be limited by the ability of teachers and I know there sometimes has been a problem getting enough teachers to teach science (whereas there are plenty of English teachers in parts of Canada for example). So getting more people interested in science could help change that. I remember having lots of interactive teaching in science where we got to do experiments ourselves and I think that is a good way to learn as well.
