  The energy from the sun is pretty constant (unless we include outbursts in solar activity however in general the output is constant). What we can do to get “more” energy from the sun is to increase technology to capture this energy better! Nuclear reactions in the sun make thermal energy which traces to the earth as radiant energy and is then converted to thermal energy when it hits something! If the energy hits a solar panel then it becomes electric energy, and so if we increase the efficiency of solar panels then technically we can increase the amount of energy gained from the sun!
