• Question: I have always enjoyed science, especially when we do practicals! what is your favorite test/practical you've done before? If you have done one, then which one is it, and where did you do it because of the safety rules? :)

      Hi hamburger,

Great name by the way! Like the question, practicals are such a good way to really understand science and try out new things. Hmm…I have done practicals over the years, but nothing recently – I would say my favourite practical learning experience though was a few years ago when I was studying farm management – I got to spend a whole day working with a farmer in North East Scotland learning about his dairy farm, the methods they use for milking and cattle rearing and so on – we even got to help out with the milking! I loved being able to spend time with the cows and be on the farm in general. It was so interesting to really see where some of the food we eat comes from. There were a few safety considerations of course, mainly to protect ourselves and the cows from any diseases, so we did have to make sure our shoes were clean and we rinsed them when we left. It was also really nice of the farmer to spend time showing us around as they are very busy!

In terms of a favourite test, I used to love biology in high school, and I enjoyed dissecting animals in our school lab to learn more about them – once I had to dissect a frog and that was one of the most interesting experiences for me in science!

      Hope that answers your question!

      Thanks again,

      Fiona
