• Question: if the sun blew up? what would be the reason of it blowing up? and how?

      Hi Jordanhoang,

      The way the sun burns now, by *nuclear fusion*, is actually a giant explosion! This is why it’s shining so brightly, and releasing so much heat – heat that powers all life on earth! So there is no way of making it “explode” more than it’s already doing 😉

      In about 5 and a half billion years, the sun will have used its current fuel (hydrogen), and will begin to grow. It will become big enough to swallow Mercury and Venus, and maybe even Earth! By that time, we should have found somewhere else to live! 😉
